OBSTETRIC CASE STUDY ON MULTIPLE PREGNANCY

  CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION A case study is defined as a detailed analysis of a group, person or situation, especially as a model of medical phenomenon, over a period of time, with a view to develop the person, group or situation under study. In the case of gynaecology and obstetrics, it is a study of obstetric and/or gynaecological or medical conditions that can endanger the life of the mother, baby or both, and it is done over a specified period of time. It is an in-depth analysis and systematic description of one patient or group of similar patients to promote understanding of nursing interventions (BT Basavanthappa, 2014) A case study has the following significances to the study of Midwifery: Ø   The student midwife and/or midwife develops confidence to face challenges related to problem solving. Ø   Case studies enhance critical thinking towards problem-solving strategies. Meaning, the student/midwife will better up their skills to analyze and decide on action, and eval
